Feature Request Process

Follow these steps to submit a feature request

Feedback from ClockShark’s clients has helped keep our product useful and relevant as industries change and develop. While the feature request and development process can be lengthy and not all requests become new features, we value the feedback and experience our clients provide. 

There are two ways to submit your ideas to ClockShark. Visit the ClockShark Product Portal to submit an idea or review proposed or upcoming features. Alternatively, go to the ClockShark Homepage to start a chat and submit your idea to our support team directly.

Before you submit an idea

Before you submit a new idea, make sure you:

  • Check What’s New to see if your idea is due to be rolled out as a feature in a recent release update.
  • Ensure a version of your idea isn’t already proposed or planned. Learn more in View a roadmap of ideas and planned features.
  • Show support by leaving feedback for an idea if it is similar to the one you wanted to submit. Alternatively, add more value to the existing idea by commenting with enquiries or further input. Learn more in Show support for an idea.

Submit an idea through the ClockShark Product Portal

To submit an idea:

  1. Visit the ClockShark Product Portal.
  2. Click Submit idea.
  3. In the Submit new idea pop-up window, explain your idea under the What would you like to be able to do? How would that help you? text box.
    • Describe the outcome or goal of the proposed feature, and then provide extra context with use cases or scenarios.
    • Remember to contain your idea to one topic. If you have several ideas, submit them separately. Refer to the ClockShark Product Portal contribution guidelines to ensure your idea contributes to a welcoming and collaborative product portal environment.
  4. Under How important is this to you? select from NOT IMPORTANT, NICE-TO-HAVE, IMPORTANT or CRITICAL based on your requirements.
  5. Enter an email address to associate with your idea.
  6. Click Submit.
    • You will need to verify the email address provided for your idea to be submitted. You will then receive an email to complete this process after which your idea will be sent to the Product Team.

Submit an idea through ClockShark Support

If you have an idea on how to improve ClockShark, we would love to hear it! To submit a feature request through ClockShark Support:

  1. Start a chat with our Support team at www.clockshark.com
  2. Tell them you have an idea to improve ClockShark.
    • Be as detailed as possible. The more information our Support team can pass along to our Product team, the better.
  3. The support team will submit your contact information, the chat, and any other relevant information into our Product intake form.
  4. From here, the feature request goes through a rigorous vetting process to determine the viability of the request.

Please note:
The Feature Request process can be lengthy as it involves intense review, planning, and development from our Engineering and Product teams. Not all requests become features. We always want to ensure a feature is fully prepared before release.

View a roadmap of ideas and planned features

  • If an idea is being considered for implementation, it is listed in the PROPOSED tab of the ClockShark Product Portal. If it has been marked for development it is listed under the PLANNED tab. The plan tap is organised by application so you can view upcoming features for each of ClockShark’s different products. You can click the features to leave feedback and indicate how important they are to your business. Learn more in Leave feedback and rate ideas.
  • Check What’s New in ClockShark to see if your idea has already been developed and released.

Show support for an idea

The Product Team regularly reviews all ideas and closely watches ideas that are rated higher and have more feedback.

This allows us to prioritise and develop the ideas deemed the most crucial by the ClockShark community.

To rate an idea:

  1. Visit the ClockShark Product Portal.
  2. Navigate to the PROPOSED or PLANNED tab and click the required feature.
  3. Under How important is this to you?, select NOT IMPORTANT, NICE-TO-HAVE, IMPORTANT or CRITICAL to rate an idea.
  4. You can then enter your feedback or comment, as required in the Why do you need this? text box.
  5. Enter an email to associate the feedback with and click Submit.
    • A verification email is sent to your email address that must be actioned before the rating or feedback is posted.

ClockShark Product Portal contribution guidelines

To ensure the Product Portal remains a welcoming and collaborative environment, we encourage you to observe the following guidelines:

  • Contain ideas to one submission each, rather than packing several ideas into one submission.
  • No obscene, indecent, hateful, offensive, defamatory, abusive, harassing, or profane material.
  • No spam, advertisements, or otherwise inappropriate comments or ideas.
  • No personal attacks. Effective collaboration comes from courteous, respectful, and engaged communication.
