Add the ability to insert a note on a specific day, without having to add time. Such as when an employee takes a vacation day or is sick.
John Smith, did not work. On vacation today.
or John Smith, did not work. Took personal day.
Something to have a reference for that particular day.255 votes
Thanks for sharing your support for this idea here! As support continues to mount for this idea, our development team will plan how to bring this to you in ClockShark. :)
Reading this idea, and all the comments below, I can see that the consensus is that administrators would like a way to designate an Off/Holiday/PTO day, without having to insert any time for an employee. Currently, in ClockShark there is an available workaround that’s equivalent to the feature being requested.
If you’d like to see how to designate that an employee will be taking (or took) a day off, Morgan from our Customer Success team explains how to do that here: https://soapbox.wistia.com/videos/SkNhqgi9Kc
Feel free to let me know if this video is helpful, or if you have any other suggestions/ideas regarding how we can improve ClockShark for you. I love hearing your ideas.
We allow our employees to use their own vehicles and reimburse them for that mileage. I wish there was a way we could track that on this app.128 votes
Mileage tracking is something that we do hear a fair number of you requesting, so it’s something we’ll consider adding to ClockShark on a future update. Current feature addition projects are taking priority, so if you like this idea then please vote in with your support.
There should be a way for an Admin to directly message the phone of all (or certain) employees through ClockShark.126 votes
Depending on what information needs to be communicated to employees (schedule changes, upcoming job start time), there may already be a notification available in ClockShark. Feel free to check out http://help.clockshark.com/knowledgebase/articles/1133746-using-notifications to see how those notifications suit your needs. :)
Regarding the ability to craft particular messages and send them directly through the app, this is a request that we are hearing more-and-more. I’m sharing this with our development team, and we’ll continue to monitor the votes here for this idea, so we can know when we should add that for you.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions, you can let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org. I love to hear how we can improve ClockShark for you.
Ability to populate shift schedule with Google calendar108 votes
Update—Google Calendar integration is an idea we are definitely hoping to implement soon. We’ll update the idea here once it is moved into development.
Only the employee know what they have done that day. I believe that if they had to sign off on their time sheet saying it was correct, alot of things would be corrected by them not office staff.86 votes
Hi! We’ve recently added a signature line to the TIme Sheets report so if you print that report you will be able to have employees sign the printed time sheet. We realize that having an in-app approval process would be more ideal, so its something we are considering adding on an upcoming release. Thanks for the suggestions!
Provide language option for Clock Shark users-Spanish specifically62 votes
Hi there, this is an idea we are considering for a future update. In the meantime, there is a Spanish language getting started guide available. Email or chat with us, and we’ll send you a copy. We don’t make it readily available because our experience has been that most spanish speakers are able to figure out the app and navigate around in it without too many issues.
Ability to change employee clock in/out/lunch times during shift without having to wait until they clock out at the end of the day.57 votes
Thanks everyone for your support. We are still monitoring customer feedback for this idea, so please continue to vote and share your thoughts on this feature.
It would be nice if there was a way to put in the employees pay rate so when you run a report on a job you can see not only the hours but also how many hours per employee times their pay rate to have a more accurate accounting of the total job labor cost.55 votes
Thanks for your suggestions! We are receiving this request more frequently, so we’ll consider adding it on a future update.
Anyone interested in this feature, please vote and share your thoughts so we have a great idea of who would like to see this feature.
I was shocked to learn that when I assigned a second administrator to our company account, I was able to login with that new administrator account and reveal my password. Revealing other administrator passwords shouldn’t be an option or should be an option that can be opted out of.53 votes
Thanks for sharing this idea, Jeremy. Yep, you’re right: administrators do have the option to view employee passwords, including other administrators. Masking passwords among administrators is something we hope to address here soon. We’ll keep you posted, but please keep sending those votes in, folks.
I suggest having a drop down menu with job statuses such as 'in progress' 'complete' 'to be scheduled' etc. preferably with an admin setup option where we can create the list of statuses.
Ideally the guys in the field (from mobile app) should be able to change statuses (preferably we would be able to limit which statuses they can select from).
Last but not least it would be great to be able to sort jobs on the job page by status52 votes
Thanks for sharing your idea, Shaahid! Currently, one can set a job as “Active” or “Inactive” in ClockShark, but your idea would fine-tune that feature, and even allow employees to control the job access. After all, they’re likely the first ones to know when a job is complete.
I can see that this idea is gaining traction. Great! We’re going to keep a close eye on the support for this idea, so that we know when to build that feature for you. Of course, if you have any other suggestions or ideas, please let me know. I love hearing them.
If an employee is pushing 8 hours of labor, a reminder to clock out would be very beneficial and perhaps another reminder every two hours after. If an employee is clocked out for lunch and an hour has passed, send a reminder to clock back in--they may have forgotten and returned back to work. Also, a reminder to clock out for lunch would be very helpful, perhaps after being clocked in 3.5-4 hours.49 votes
Lunch Reminders are a hot suggestion right now, so we will look into adding those in a future update. Please continue to vote for the employee notification you’d like to see, and include any details below in the comments section.
A report that could tell me how much I have spent in wages including overtime on specific jobs. Ideally we could even enter our employee wages into Clock Shark so you could do that math for us. For example, in February, Steve (who makes $31.50/hour) had 25.5 reg hours and 2 OT hours at the Smith job and Eric (who makes $13.87/hour )had 12.7 reg hours and 7.6 OT hours at the smith job. So at the Smith job I spent ____________ on wages in total.48 votes
I would love to see better vacation and reporting features:
-a separate line item on reports that totals vacation hours
-Quickbooks integration for vacation hours
-vacation time requests within the app that would automatically add the vacation hours once the request is approved
Features that would be handy, though not essential:
-vacation accrual tracking, so employees could see how much time they have available and how much they've used in the pay period
-settings that auto-fill vacation if employee hasn't worked the weekly minimum hours (i.e. 40)45 votes
Thanks for the input, everyone, on how you would like to see Vacation tracking integrated with ClockShark. It looks like this idea is very specific, and has many parts, so please keep voting and adding as much detail as possible, so we know exactly what to add for you.
As we respond to the suggestions with the most votes, we’ll keep you updated in the “comments” section. Thanks for taking the time to share the features you’d like to see added to ClockShark. :)
Do not allow an employee to clock in until they are in the GPS fencing area. This way there is no mistakingly clocking in on the way to work .44 votes
Thanks for the idea, Bruno. We’ll definitely consider this. Up until now, preventing an employee from clocking in because of their location is a little squirrelly for both parties. So we have a created a conservative in-between.
Currently, you can set up Out of Bounds alerts in ClockShark that will alert you if an employee is clocking in/out from outside the GPS Fence. Let me share an article on how to set that up: http://help.clockshark.com/knowledgebase/articles/1135408-using-gps-fence-geofencing
Out of Bounds alerts will make you aware anytime an employee clocks time when they’re not on the jobsite. We’ll keep our eyes on this idea’s feedback to see if that setting needs to be more restrictive. Keep on voting, folks.
With GPStrak sending a gps ping on occassion is great, but if you were able to press a button or something to make an employee's ping. That way you can see where they are on request rather than waiting.40 votes
Thanks for sharing this idea. Making a GPS “Blast” feature that could conservatively refresh all the locations of employees is something that our customers have begun asking for. Keep sending in those votes so that we know when exactly to build this for you.
It would be great to be able to change the logo on the reports from the ClockShark logo to our company logo.40 votes
Thanks for all the support, folks. To give a quick update: we are still monitoring this idea and its votes to judge when we need to add this for you. Your input is appreciated and it’s all we look at when improving ClockShark, so please keep it coming.
Add hourly wages to the time sheet reports. This will eliminate any hand calculations for weekly totals for pay roll.37 votes
Thanks for your support and feedback regarding pay rates in ClockShark. This is something that we are hoping to add in a future update, so stay tuned for an update about this feature!
Please keep voting and sharing your ideas in the comments section so we know exactly what to be working on for you.
TIMESHEET APPROVAL CHECKBOX!!!!!!37 votes
Everyone, thanks for your support of this idea. We are looking to be adding TimeSheet Approvals to ClockShark in 2018, so stay tuned for the debut of this awesome feature!
Add a Parts/Tools Used Field, much like the notes field.
In our line of business we use all sorts of tools and do many runs for parts everyday, a place to input those aside from the notes field would be superb! Please and Thank You!36 votes
Thank you for sharing your idea, and allowing folks to have a forum to support and vote for it. We prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support.
Great suggestions spread like wildfire. With enthusiastic support, this idea will become one of our upcoming feature releases, so please keep voting. :)
Adding API integration would allow users to develop 3rd party applications to gather data from this system and put it into a common data base where other important company data exists.
The purpose would be to allow users to begin to look at KPIs specific to their business which would include the data form this application.
One of the biggest problems that I run into as a small business is figuring out how to integrate all of the different information systems within our organization. API makes that an easy solution to this problem.35 votes
Thanks for sharing your idea, Troy. Requests for an open API have started to steamroll, so we’ll be looking into this. This year, one of our goals is to increase the number of integrations available with ClockShark, and this connects nicely with that.
Since all of our feature additions come from customer requests, we’ll be closely monitoring the feedback this idea generates. Please keep voting, folks. If you have any ideas for software integrations, or would like to share what software your company uses, feel free to let me know @ email@example.com.
